Throughout the year 2018, as Masiyephambili College we had a number of achievements. They ranged from Academics, which is our main focus, to clubs and sports.


At the beginning of the year we received various awards. masiye received an award for producing the best O level results in Imbizo District. Brandon ngwenya who is now the Deputy Headboy received a prize for being one of the top studentsat both district and Provincial level. He had four A*’s, four A’s, and 2 B’s. We also had a prize for producing the best results in ICT in 2017. The then Headgirl ( Roselyn Butshe Dube ) received an award for oneof the best students at district and provincial level. She attained 15 points. She also was the best Cambridge student in Zimbabwe for the Subject Business Studies. Four students, brandon ngwenya, Fadzai Hokonya, Brian Phiri and Tadiwa Ndlovu were awarded honours by the school for attaining five A’s and above in their O’Level exams



The school Received many medals at the beginning of the year. Thabani Makhanya was our highest achiever making it to District level and obataining three medals. One gold, one silver and one bronze. 


For so long the rugby team had stopped playing until this year when a group of upper 6 boys decided to revive the sport.  The rugby team was given the name “wolves”. They had a series of training sessions before they could play matches. The wolves raised funds for their kit and the kit was presented to them by the headmaster, Mr T.V. Moyo during assembly. The wolves played against Gifford, Eastview and Milton. They won two matches and drew in one. For a new team these were great achievements for the school.


The cricket team also had a series of games throughout the year. The colts played throughout the year. The boys played against hamilton, St Columbus, Heath Streak academy and Christian Brothers College. The boys played their hearts out and with each game they played  they got better at the game.

Junior Council

In September, two of our students, Dumisile Siwela and Brian Phiri were inducted into the Bulawayo Juniour City Council. After working hard, they both became Honourable Councilors. 


The School offers a wide variety  of active clubs. We have Interact, Debate and Public Speaking, Toastmasters,Chess, Science club, Junior Achievers of Zimbabwe (JAZ) and Conservation club.

Interact Club

The club managed to visit one old peoples home, John Smale. The students students  spent some time with senior citizens helping them out. The club also visited different orphanages  which the club adopted. These were mustard seed and Simanyane Childrens home. The students took with them clothes and groceries which were donated by the students of Masiyephambili College. there was tackie day that was organised by cancer foundation. Masiyephambili took part and we managed to raise a considerable amount  of money on the day. The club together with the PTA organised Africa Night, an event that is held annually. At the event there were various African dishes that were being sold. A fashion show was also held. The young ladies showcased their casual, evening and African attires. Miss Masiye was crowned at the event.

Conservation Club

On Monday the 2nd of December, the conservation was coordinated by a tree planting day. Together with the help of students, the club managed to plant 21 trees.


At the beginning of October , the Toastmaster society hosted an induction at the tea room. The schools invited were Petra high, Dominican Convent, Milton high School and Christian brothers college. the new board inducted the following

President: Brandon Ngwenya, V.President: Samantha Masara, Presidential Advisor: Takunda Madzivire, PRO: Thabisile Ndebele. Disciplinarian: Sineculu Ncube, Treasurer: Nothabo Ndlovu, Secretary: Tadiwa Ndlovu

Prefects Training

Early February, the school organised a training camp for prefects that was held at Masiye Camp. There were different activities held that taught teamwork and leadership. As much as training was educational  we also got a chance for leisure activities such as zip lining and canoeing.
